We're looking for a proud Workshop Controller/Manager to join us at Team Solo.
Not someone to fill a seat, someone to own the operation.
Solo is a family-run used car dealership, established in 2008 and have grown to be one of the top 1% of Car Dealer in the UK with over 1,800 5* reviews. We've just completed a £400,000 investment in new workshop facilities, main dealer sophisticated Microsoft online work flows, professional diagnostics, digital service history, the lot. The setup is serious & we need the right person running it.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the full workshop operation inc 3x technicians with a target of 90x cars p/Month. You'll manage job cards, bookings, technician workflow and turnaround, while also handling customer communication directly... including after-sales and fault resolution.
That last part is important because when something goes wrong with a car (as it does), the customer needs to feel looked after before they've even explained the problem. If you're the type who can do that naturally, calm, straight, no defensiveness then you'll fit well at Solo.
Longer term, there's real scope for outbound servicing, an EV programme, and a growing business that wants someone who'll help shape where the workshop goes in the future, not just maintain it.
Pay & Hours
- £40,000–£45,000 OTE.
- Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm
- No weekends, no bank holidays, Christmas shutdown

What We're Looking For
Genuine workshop controller experience, ideally from a main dealer or high-volume site set-up. Someone organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable dealing with customers as well as technicians. You like systems and you actually stick to them. You don't need to be managed, you need room to work.
What Won't Work Here
If you struggle with the customer side, go quiet when things get hard, or need chasing to stay on top of things... this role will be a difficult fit. Team Solo is a tightly knitted with a strong culture and we're passionate about protecting it.
