Duties
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients to assist chefs with food preparation tasks
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to meet health and safety standards
- Assist with the storage and organization of ingredients and supplies in designated areas
- Support the removal of waste and recycling materials in accordance with safety protocols
- Ensure all kitchen areas are hygienic, organized, and stocked for daily operations
- Help with basic food prep tasks under supervision to develop culinary skills
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to promote a safe working environment for all staff
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hotel environment is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene practices and safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Basic knowledge of hospitality operations including serving and customer service is a plus
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary techniques and kitchen management
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks effectively
