Role summary
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the smooth running of the Workshop, alongside being a productive member of the workshop team. Overseeing the Technician team, ensuring key performance indicators are achieved, whilst maintaining positive relationships with our customers.
Salary from £20 per hour dependant upon experience
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:00-17:30

What does the job involve?
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to DVSA standard
- Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
- Oversee branch team, including monitoring timekeeping and productivity, authorising overtime, and identifying training needs
- Establish a positive working relationship with all branch departments and other branches
- Achieve and strive to exceed customer service level expectations and agreements
- Deal with queries in an effective manner, ensuring all actions are met
- Assist in training and development programs for branch staff
- Maximise the profitability of both parts and service departments, including continual improvements in utilisation of staff and efficiency levels
- Lead and motivate the team
- Access, produce and follow up all quotations for all types of equipment
- Remain up to date with all relevant legal requirements
- Ensure company vehicles are maintained to the required standard
- Any other duties relevant to the smooth and efficient operation of the department as determined by your manager
What qualifications and experience are we looking for?
- Technical Qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Qualified Technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles
- General knowledge of the automotive industry
- Current driving licence
- Supervisory or management experience
- LGV/HGV licence desirable
- Current driving licence
- Ability to work within a team
- Excellent organisation and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work within guidelines and to deadlines
- Solution driven approach
