Would you like a job where you can choose hours that suit you, earn money in your spare time, and work in a luxurious Victorian building? Would you like a regular source of part-time income that lasts many years? Then this is the job for you. You'll also learn skills useful in business and at home, from how to make a room more tranquil and productive, to how to learn things easily with AI. On top of that, this flexible job pays quite well.
Our ideal is people with whom we can work for many years. It's part-time because although we'll typically have many hours per month of projects for you, we won't have so much that it competes with a full-time job. So this role is ideal for someone who would like to add to their income by doing projects in their spare time.
Because the tasks vary, we plan to hire two types of people: 1) a generalist for tasks that don't require advanced skill, and 2) a more advanced tradesperson.
Compensation
- £22-28/hr for tasks that require trade certifications like electrician, plumber, joiner, etc.
- £20/hr for tasks that don't require trade certifications.
Overview of work
- You'll work in a Victorian, sandstone townhouse on Kelvingrove Park. You can see what the workplace looks like by a Google image search of "11 Clairmont Gardens".
- When you don't know how to do a task, you can ask AI for a youtube video showing how to do it.
- To free up our directors' time for work that only they can do, we'd like to delegate other tasks. For example: light physical tasks such as to setup, fix, or install an item (typically an item of an office or home). You should be generally willing to do a variety of tasks that save the directors time.
- For the generalist role, you don't need to have many existing skills because you will learn on the job. You mainly need to be willing to do a wide variety of tasks needed in an office and home, to make life easier for our directors and save them time. You will help setup and maintain the building's YouTube recording studio, office space, and homes.
Requirements
- You like fixing problems, improving spaces, and making things neat.

- You're comfortable using ChatGPT.
- You have a smartphone and laptop.
- You have fluent English.
- You completed secondary school education.
- Sometimes we receive deliveries of boxes. You must be able to occasionally carry a box of 13 kg or 29 lb; most women & men can carry that weight.
- ≥ 2 years of experience working for other people. A past employer would highly recommend you.
- You can likely work with us for at least 3 years since this is for a long-term work relationship.
Note
- All genders are welcome.
- In this role you are an "independent contractor" and freelancer. So we do not withhold tax in the way done with employees. You receive the full pay, then you give your income tax to the government at the right time later in the year.
