About the Role
We are looking for a Housing Support Worker to join our team in Birmingham Central, providing high-quality housing and tenancy-related support to vulnerable adults.
You will work with residents who may have a range of support needs, including mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour, family breakdown, behavioural difficulties, neighbourhood disputes and anti-social behaviour.
Your role will be focused on helping residents develop the skills, confidence and stability they need to progress towards independent living and successful move-on.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of approximately 25 residents, providing structured and person-centred support.
- Provide regular 1:1 support sessions, wellbeing checks and tenancy-related support.
- Develop and review individual Support Plans, Risk Assessments and Move-On Plans with residents.
- Support residents to achieve positive outcomes around health, financial wellbeing, independence, safety and community involvement.
- Carry out weekly room inspections and welfare checks, ensuring properties are maintained to an appropriate standard.
- Identify and report repairs, maintenance issues, safeguarding concerns and health & safety risks.
- Support residents with tenancy sustainment, including service charge payments and compliance with house rules and licence agreements.
- Complete relevant housing and support documentation accurately and within required timescales.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies and referral partners to ensure residents receive appropriate support.
- Maintain accurate records of all support sessions, property visits and resident interactions.
- Complete required fire safety, emergency lighting, meter readings and health & safety checks at Lanchester House and community-based properties.
- Support residents with move-on planning and preparation for independent accommodation.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure concerns are reported in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Attend training and contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance within the service.

Experience
Experience in housing support, supported accommodation, homelessness, care, mental health, substance misuse, community support or a similar environment would be advantageous.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting people with complex needs and helping individuals work towards greater independence.
