Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer/Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems across various commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong technical background, practical experience with a range of tools and materials, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. Duties
- Install, inspect, and service gas appliances and systems in accordance with current regulations and safety standards
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on gas equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing tools to carry out installation and repair tasks
- Perform mechanical work including assembly, carpentry, and heavy lifting as required during installations or repairs
- Troubleshoot issues with gas systems using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills to diagnose problems accurately
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safety checks
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections carried out
- Assist with the training of junior staff or apprentices as needed
- Drive company vehicles for site visits when necessary, adhering to all commercial driving regulations
Experience
- Proven experience in gas engineering or related trades such as plumbing or mechanical engineering
- Skilled in welding, carpentry, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of gas safety regulations and certification requirements (e.g., Gas Safe registration)
- Experience working with commercial gas systems is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installations or repairs
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties is preferred but not mandatory for all roles
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting purposes

This is a subcontracting role with the following rates of pay.
Completed ASV/GSC - £20
Completed breakdown/repair - £40
Completed boiler install including system flush - £600
Other rates for referrals, raising further works etc will be explained during the interview stage.
