Are you passionate about growing your own food? if yes, you could be the person we are looking for. Preston City Council is looking for a full-time Allotment Officer, an understanding of Allotment legislation would be an advantage, but training will be provided. Preston currently manages 8 allotment sites and 3 community orchards, with a further site being developed as part of a planning condition and one allotment association site.
Preston has invested in the Orkastrate software system to assist in the management of its plots and tenancies. Working as part of the Parks Ranger team, your role is to ensure all allotment sites are managed effectively including those overseen by Allotment associations. To act and direct action to improve the allotment environment, and to build a relationship of mutual trust with allotment holders, allotment associations and other stakeholders.
You will be responsible for preparing the tenancy documents and issuing annual invoices.
You will work 5 days out of 7 and does involve weekend working.
