Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Disabled Children Registered Manager to lead and oversee the provision of high-quality care for children with disabilities. This vital role involves managing a specialized care environment that supports children’s individual needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a nurturing, safe, and empowering atmosphere. Duties
- Lead the development, implementation, and review of personalized care plans for children with disabilities, including those requiring dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Supervise and support a team of care staff, ensuring they deliver exceptional assistance aligned with best practices in senior and pediatric care.
- Lead the support staff in designing activities and learning that enhances the cognitive ability of the children
- Oversee medication administration processes where necessary, maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including safeguarding policies, health and safety standards, and regulatory frameworks governing care services.
- Coordinate training programs to enhance staff skills in areas such as dementia care, medication management, and home care techniques.
- Foster strong relationships with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to promote holistic support for each child’s well-being.
- Monitor quality assurance processes through audits and inspections to uphold the highest standards of care delivery within the care home environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Ofsted registration process and prepare the setting for opening.
- Develop policies, procedures and operational systems in line with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Recruit, induct and develop a high-performing residential care team.
- Create a positive, child-centred and trauma-informed culture.
- Ensure safeguarding remains at the heart of everything the service delivers.
- Oversee quality assurance, audits and continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, commissioners, social workers and external professionals.
- Manage referrals, occupancy and service performance.
- Lead the setting through Ofsted inspections while driving continuous improvement.
- Ensure every child receives safe, consistent and high-quality care.
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments, preferably working with children or young adults with disabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills within a care setting, including supervising teams and managing operational responsibilities.
- Extensive knowledge of care planning processes, medication administration protocols, and compliance requirements related to disability services.
- Familiarity with dementia and Alzheimer’s care practices tailored for younger populations or children with cognitive impairments.
- Prior experience working in a care home or home care setting that involves complex needs management.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, health & safety regulations, and quality assurance standards relevant to pediatric disability services.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external agencies while leading your team confidently.
About You
We're looking for someone who is excited by the challenge of building a new home and establishing an outstanding service.
You'll have:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, or substantial experience as a Deputy Manager ready for registration.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or be working towards it.
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted expectations.
- Experience preparing for or supporting Ofsted inspections.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing risk.
- A passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Pay: £40,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
