Job Description
We are looking for a Trailer Technician to expand our HGV Truck And Trailer workshop at Immingham maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial trucks/ trailers.
This is a mobile role, and a fully equipped service van will be provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for keeping trailers safe, roadworthy, and compliant with DVSA standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine trailer inspections and servicing
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical trailer faults
- Perform brake, suspension, axle and lighting repairs
- Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques
- Carry out defect repairs and preventative maintenance
- Complete service sheets and defect reports
- Ensure trailers remain DVSA compliant and safe for operation
- Respond to breakdowns or urgent defects on site
- Carry out electrical work including soldering and wiring repairs in accordance with safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, prioritising customer service excellence
Requirements
- Experience working as a HGV Technician / Trailer Mechanic
- Good knowledge of commercial trailer systems
- Ability to work independently in a mobile role
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work Long shifts Mon-Fri
