Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, assisting with patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with pharmacy protocols and prescriptions
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders for patients
- Provide guidance and information to patients regarding medication usage, side effects, and storage instructions
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
- Support medication administration procedures within the pharmacy setting
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of pharmaceuticals
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organised, and secure pharmacy environment
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and medication management
Required
- NVQ Level 2 Dispensing Qualification or Equivalent
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical procedures and regulations
- Knowledge of medication administration processes and patient care practices
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure dispensing accuracy
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal standards within pharmacy practice
