About Kinder Village Café
Kinder Village Café is a welcoming, family-friendly soft play café in East Malling. We provide a safe and enjoyable space where children can play while parents and carers relax, meet friends and enjoy food and drinks from our café.
We also host birthday parties, family events and special activities throughout the year.
We are looking for a confident, friendly and reliable Soft Play Café Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of the café and soft play. This is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will be expected to lead by example, support the team and help wherever needed.
About the role
As the Soft Play Café Supervisor, you will be responsible for running the venue during your shifts and ensuring our customers receive a warm, friendly and professional service.
You will supervise the team, maintain excellent safety and cleanliness standards and ensure the café and play areas operate smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising the café and soft-play team during your shifts.
- Allocating duties and ensuring all tasks and cleaning schedules are completed.
- Opening and closing the venue when required.
- Welcoming customers and creating a friendly, positive atmosphere.
- Managing admissions, bookings, enquiries and customer payments.
- Monitoring visitor numbers and ensuring the venue does not exceed its safe capacity.
- Ensuring customers understand and follow the soft-play rules.
- Completing daily opening, closing and safety checks.
- Checking the soft-play equipment and immediately reporting any damage or safety concerns.
- Handling accidents, incidents and customer complaints calmly and professionally.
- Completing accident, incident and maintenance records correctly.
- Supporting birthday parties, private bookings and special events.
- Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and café food.
- Operating the till and handling cash and card payments accurately.
- Maintaining food-hygiene, allergen and cross-contamination procedures.
- Monitoring stock levels and notifying management when supplies need to be ordered.
- Ensuring the café, kitchen, seating areas, toilets and play areas remain clean and presentable.
- Supporting the team with cleaning, food preparation and customer service during busy periods.
- Following health and safety, fire safety, food safety, COSHH and safeguarding procedures.
- Completing clear handovers for the next supervisor or management team.
This is not a childcare position. Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children at all times. However, you will be expected to monitor the play environment, promote safe play and respond appropriately to any concerns.
