Who are we?
Romac Engineering Services – With over 30 years of industry experience, we're a growing engineering maintenance business trusted for reliable service, technical expertise and long-term customer relationships.
We maintain, repair and install motors, pumps, fans, inverters, control panels and mechanical plant, combining electrical and mechanical expertise to solve complex problems.
We're still a small business, which means no endless management layers, no corporate politics and no being treated like an employee number.
Instead, you'll work directly with the owner, have the freedom to get on with the job, and become a genuinely valued part of the business.
As we grow, so will your opportunities.
About The Role
This is a genuinely varied role where no two weeks are ever the same. You'll split your time between customer sites across the North West, the M62 corridor and our Warrington workshop, giving you exposure to a wide variety of equipment, environments and engineering challenges.
One day you could be carrying out planned preventative maintenance at a commercial site, while the next you might be fault finding electrical issues, replacing bearings on pumps, commissioning new equipment or repairing motors back in the workshop. You'll be supporting a diverse customer base including health clubs, schools, colleges, commercial office buildings and industrial manufacturing sites.
When site work is quieter, you'll work from our workshop carrying out repairs, refurbishments and preparing equipment ready for installation, ensuring every day brings something different and plenty of opportunity to develop your skills across both electrical and mechanical disciplines.

You'll be involved with:
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Pumps, motors and rotating equipment
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Fans, belts, pulleys and bearings
- Variable Speed Drives (Inverters)
- MCCs and Control Panels

- Ductwork repairs and occasional cleaning
- Workshop-based motor and pump overhauls
- Planned and reactive maintenance across commercial sites
We're Looking for Someone Who...
Essential:
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience working with motors, pumps, fans, AHUs, inverters or control panels
- Good fault-finding ability
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by us)
· Most importantly, you'll enjoy solving problems and take pride in leaving equipment working better than you found it.
Bonus points if you've worked with:
- Commercial facilities maintenance
- HVAC systems
- Fire dampers or actuators
- LTHW or chilled water systems
- NVQ Level 3, 17th or 18th Edition
Personality Matters
Technical skills are important.
Attitude is everything.
Our engineers deal directly with customers every day, often when equipment has failed and they need help urgently.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine "can do" attitude
- Enjoys solving problems
- Communicates well with customers
- Takes ownership
- Is reliable
- Wants to keep learning
- Works well independently
If your first response is "I'll sort it" rather than "that's not my job", you'll fit in well here.
What You'll Get
- £40,000 basic salary
- Plenty of overtime available
- Company van
- Company pension
- Flexible start and finish times where operationally possible
