About Us
Mathnasium is the world’s leading maths-only learning provider, with more than 1,200 centres worldwide.
Mathnasium of Guildford opened in June 2026 and is growing quickly. We work with children from Reception through to GCSE, helping them develop strong mathematical understanding, confidence and enjoyment of maths.
We are looking for a Maths graduate to join us as an Assistant Centre Manager, with a particular focus on education, student progress and the day-to-day operation of the centre.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Maths graduate or early-career candidate who enjoys working with children and wants to develop a career combining education, leadership and management.
Working closely with the Centre Manager, you will help ensure every student receives an outstanding educational experience. You will work directly with students and instructors, monitor academic progress, maintain high instructional standards and communicate regularly with parents.
As the centre grows, there will be opportunities to take on increasing management responsibility.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring student progress and ensuring learning plans are delivered effectively
- Working directly with students and supporting their mathematical development
- Maintaining high standards of teaching and instruction
- Supervising, coaching and developing our team of maths instructors
- Discussing student progress with parents and building strong family relationships
- Supporting instructor recruitment, onboarding and training
- Helping manage the day-to-day educational and operational running of the centre
- Taking responsibility for the centre when the Centre Manager is absent
- Supporting relationships with local schools and the wider Guildford community
Essential requirements
- A degree in Mathematics, or a closely related degree with a strong mathematical component
- Strong GCSE and A-Level Mathematics results, or equivalent qualifications
- Excellent mathematical confidence and ability
- A genuine interest in education and working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence communicating with parents and supporting a team
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- A professional, reliable and positive approach
Experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or working with children is desirable but not essential.
Previous management experience is not required. We are looking for someone with the ability and potential to develop into a strong educational and operational leader.
Location and Working Hours
This is a fully in-person role at our centre on London Road in Guildford.
The role is 36–40 hours per week over five days. Teaching hours include weekday afternoons and evenings during school term time, as well as Saturdays. Working patterns vary outside term time.
Applicants must live within approximately 20 minutes’ travel of our centre at GU1 2AF.
Training and Development
You will receive full training in the Mathnasium Method™ and ongoing mentoring and development across student assessment, instructional quality, instructor coaching, parent communication, centre operations and team leadership.
