Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Bricklayers to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and other masonry materials to construct and repair structures such as walls, facades, and pavements. Responsibilities
- Measure and mark out construction areas according to plans and specifications
- Mix mortar and prepare bricks or blocks for laying
- Lay bricks, blocks, or stones in a variety of patterns ensuring stability and aesthetic appeal
- Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to execute precise work
- Operate power tools including mixers, drills, and saws safely and effectively
- Assist with the installation of roofing structures or other related carpentry tasks when required
- Perform repairs or alterations on existing masonry structures as needed
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters, roofers, or welders on complex projects
Skills
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related trades
- Proficiency with hand tools essential for bricklaying tasks
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction
- Basic carpentry skills beneficial for structural adjustments or support work
- Experience with roofing or welding is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on precision and quality workmanship
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
