Job Overview
The Paramedic will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary practice care team, providing high-quality, patient-centred care across both this practice and our sister practice.
The role includes clinical triage, care navigation, home visiting (independently) and support for wider clinical operations. The post holder will work autonomously within their scope of practice whilst having access to support and clinical oversight from the duty/on-call GP and other relevant staff where required.
The Paramedic will assist patients in accessing the most appropriate care pathway, provide timely assessment and treatment, undertake independent home visits, and support the Practice with a range of clinical and clinical administrative healthcare activities. This is a part time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Run triage clinics, assessing and managing patients independently where appropriate.
- Take comprehensive patient histories and perform clinical assessments.
- Resolve minor issues independently or escalate to the on-site GP for complex cases.
- Care navigate patients to appropriate services such as Pharmacy First, community services, or secondary care.
- Conduct independent home visits, with support from the on-site GP when required.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to NHS policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Paramedic.
- Previous experience in primary care or urgent care settings is desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work between 08:00 – 18:30.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
