About Us
We are seeking to appoint a cover supervisor to cover teachers during periods of absence. This is a pivotal role and the person appointed will work closely with, Teachers and the other Cover Supervisors.
We envisage that this role would be suitable for anyone wishing to gain relevant and invaluable experience prior to completing initial teacher training and pursuing a teaching career.
The successful candidate will:
- Cover lessons (and registrations) for absent Teachers, using agreed school strategies to maintain good order in the classroom ensuring students complete the work set.
- Support extra-curricular enrichment between 2.40 – 3.40pm and have opportunities to develop any skills and interests in this area.
- Support one or more curriculum areas through activities such as; teaching resource preparation, small group teaching and one to one support.
- Participate in a comprehensive programme of professional development and induction into the teaching profession.

Salary: Grade 5 plus Crawley Weighting
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Location: Crawley

What You Need to Succeed
Purpose of job:
You will be engaged in regulated activity with students, supporting their
learning by:
- Providing supervision during the short-term absence of a subject teacher.
- Directing and organising students as outlined in the teacher’s plan.
- Ensuring that students complete the tasks set within a good learning environment.
- Providing supervision during exams, school visits and off-site activities
