About the Role
You will support the installation of commercial Cat A and Cat B fit out projects as part of a site team, run smaller daywork projects under your own supervision, and carry out mobile works, both planned and reactive.
You should have an excellent working knowledge of electrical design and installation across the commercial, education and health sectors, with strong problem-solving skills; you will be expected to identify and rectify faults independently.
Typical work includes:
- Installation, servicing, repair and maintenance of commercial and domestic electrical installations to the highest standard
- Fault finding on single and three phase systems, and identifying electrical design issues
- Testing and certification, including EICRs, in accordance with BS 7671
- Distribution board upgrades and board changes
- Emergency lighting and fire alarm installations
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all work in accordance with BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition, as amended) and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
- Implement safe working practices at all times to protect tenants, the public and fellow operatives
- Complete works to budgeted hours and programme
- Raise material requisitions as required
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out and report regularly to your line manager
- Adhere to the company ISO 9001 quality management system
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 electrotechnical qualification: City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2330 Levels 2 & 3, or 2365 with NVQ Level 3, plus AM2
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) inspection and testing
- 18th Edition wiring regulations (City & Guilds 2382 or equivalent)
- ECS Gold or Black card
- Minimum 5 years' commercial installation experience
- Personable and trustworthy, comfortable dealing directly with clients
Preferred:
- 3 years' electrical testing experience
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Full clean UK driving licence
- IPAF and PASMA
