We are seeking an experienced Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine, with exceptional food preparation and cooking skills across authentic regional dishes. This role involves overseeing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality Indian dishes in a vibrant hospitality environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate culinary excellence, leadership qualities, and a strong commitment to food safety standards. Duties
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of traditional Indian dishes with authentic flavours and presentation standards.
- Demonstrate specialist expertise in tandoor cooking, biryanis, and curries.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and ensuring efficient food production.
- Manage food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in accordance with health regulations.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes served.
- Lead team management efforts, including training new staff and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage stock rotation effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen setting, preferably in Indian cuisine or diverse culinary environments.
- Extensive food production experience specialising in Indian dishes, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
- Strong hands-on experience in tandoor, biryani, and curry preparation.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead kitchen personnel.
- Demonstrable expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation standards specific to Indian cuisine.
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting.
- Experience serving customers directly or managing service operations is advantageous.
- Must have a valid UK visa and the right to work in the UK.
Pay: £12.71-£14.50 per hour
