Job Summary
Are you a creative, organised and digitally confident marketer who wants to use your skills to make a real difference for young people?
Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre is looking for a Marketing and Communications Officer to help promote our outdoor learning offer, grow our reach and strengthen engagement with schools, youth groups, families and other key audiences.
Based at Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Centre, this hands-on role will lead day-to-day marketing and communications activity across our website, social media, campaigns and promotional materials. You will create engaging written, visual and digital content that showcases Avon Tyrrell’s impact, promotes memorable outdoor experiences and supports UK Youth’s mission to widen the reach and deepen the impact of youth work and outdoor learning.
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will manage and improve Avon Tyrrell’s digital presence, ensuring website content, imagery and customer journeys are engaging, current and effective.
- You will plan and deliver digital marketing campaigns, create social media content, produce marketing materials and use analytics to understand what works and improve future activity.
- You will work closely with colleagues across Outdoor Learning and Customer Experience to gather stories, understand customer needs, promote programmes and services, and develop activity that increases participation, occupancy and income.
- You will also manage relationships with external suppliers where required and ensure all communications reflect safeguarding, data protection, brand standards and value for money.
Experience
- We are looking for someone with experience in marketing, communications or digital marketing, including creating engaging content, managing social media, updating website content and delivering campaigns for specific audiences.
- You will be organised, proactive and confident using insight, feedback and performance data to improve marketing activity.
- We are looking for someone who can bring marketing, communications or digital marketing experience to the role and apply it in a practical, hands-on way. This could include creating engaging written, visual or video content; managing social media channels; updating website content; supporting email or digital campaigns; producing promotional materials; and using feedback, insight or analytics to understand what is working and improve future activity.
You do not need to have done all of these things in one role, but you should be able to show strong organisation, creativity, initiative and confidence working across different marketing tasks and audiences.
