Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant (Nights) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a caring nature, and the ability to supervise and support care staff during night shifts. This role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of residents through effective supervision, communication, and adherence to care plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise care staff during night shifts, ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times.
- Provide compassionate support to residents, responding promptly to their needs and concerns during the night.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing individual care plans in collaboration with the wider care team.
- Ensure accurate documentation of resident care activities, incidents, and observations using digital systems.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and promoting best practices in infection control.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and colleagues to ensure clear understanding of care requirements.
- Support the training and mentoring of junior staff members, fostering a positive team environment with strong leadership qualities.
- To safely administer medications to those in your care, using the appropriate documentation in accordance with EMAR charts and Riverside Court’s policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home setting with a focus on the elderly and/or Dementia.
- Supervising or leadership experience.
- Proficiency in using digital systems for documentation and communication purposes.
- A caring attitude combined with excellent organisational skills to manage night-time responsibilities efficiently.
- Positive, self-motivated and organised.
- Willing to undertake any training necessary to develop skills and competency relevant to the role.
- Sensitive to the needs of others.
- An active team player and must be able to work on own initiative.
- Possess good communication skills with colleagues, residents, relatives and professionals.

Pay: £14.90 per hour
Expected hours: 12.0 – 48.0 per week
