The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Clerk of Works. The post is a full term contract where you will be carrying out supervision and inspect works on a diverse range of engineering and construction projects. This involves principally site-based work but also involves some office work.
You will be responsible for ensuring the works are constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, standards and statutory requirements, through to the completion of the works and the subsequent satisfactory completion of any defects. You will need to maintain accurate, detailed and well organised records of all matters affecting progress.
About You
Experience in the construction supervision of highways, street lighting and electrical engineering works is essential, together with knowledge of appropriate legislation. The ability to write clear and concise reports is also essential.
A flexible attitude is required, as works are carried out to critical deadlines and this may involve occasional evening and weekend work. Educational qualifications are not as important as experience, ability and aptitude. A full valid current Driving Licence is essential.
You must demonstrate a flexible approach to workloads, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work well as part of a team.
