Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We're looking for caring, patient and adaptable SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a flexible supply basis in schools across Llandudno Junction and the surrounding area.
Every day is an opportunity to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve their individual goals while giving schools the support they need.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Supporting pupils with personalised learning activities, helping them engage with lessons and develop independence.
- Working closely with class teachers and ALNCo/SENCo staff to implement individual support plans.
- Encouraging positive behaviour through consistent, calm and supportive strategies.
- Helping prepare learning resources and maintain an organised, inclusive classroom environment.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff.
- Supporting pupils during break and lunchtime to promote positive social interaction and wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school, childcare, care or support setting.
- A patient, empathetic and flexible approach to supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures.
