Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to manage deliveries with professionalism and courtesy. Experience with commercial driving and flatbed vehicles is preferred, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimise fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring that cargo is secure during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order and report any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain signatures upon delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any delays.
- Follow all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Assist with organising deliveries and managing schedules to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving, with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or similar vehicles.
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic regulations within the area of operation.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading, unloading, and securing cargo safely.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with clients and colleagues.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as required by delivery schedules.
- Prior experience with commercial driving is highly desirable but not essential for enthusiastic candidates willing to learn on the job.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
