Associate General Manager - ATG Productions
Location: ATG Productions office – Duke of York's Theatre, St Martin's Lane, London.
Reporting to: Head of General Management
Salary: Up to £40,000 pa depending on experience (prorated to 6 months)
Contract: 6-month contract only: Full time (40 hours per week) usually worked between the hours of 10am and 6.30pm, additional hours, weekend and evening work will be required. Travel to touring locations with overnight stays also required.

Purpose of the Role
The general management arm of ATG Productions oversees and manages all our live productions in London, on tour and internationally.
We are seeking a commercially experienced Associate General Manager to join the team on a fixed period of 6-months.
The AGM is a key member of the team working alongside the general managers and production coordinators and assistants to facilitate all aspects of preparation, pre-production, opening and throughout the run.
In this instance the successful candidate will begin immediately on a UK touring show that has already opened and is running. The AGM will need to have enough experience to deputise for the general manager on this production, lead on the day-to-day administrative tasks in managing a large-scale touring production and will have the skills and experience to have oversight of the production assistants and their priorities. The role requires the ability to move seamlessly between office-based administration and front-line duties at relevant venues.
Key Responsibilities
- To oversee and complete the preparation of contracts for theatre productions against current union agreements, including actors, creatives, stage management and production teams and other staff.
- To initiate and assist with tour booking of our productions, issue deal memos and administrate touring venue contracts, and support the general managers with ongoing liaison with venues and performing companies whilst on tour.
- To lead on the recruitment of show teams, including scheduling and running of interview processes.
- To manage show teams both in house and externally with the assistance of the Production Coordinator and Production Assistant as required. To oversee all HR issues, both administrative and pastoral and ensuring the wellbeing of the company is prioritised alongside the needs of the production. To have oversight of all grievances, insurance claims or other emergency situations, escalating when needed and as appropriate.
- To prepare and manage production budgets (including transfers, readings and workshops), and, together with ATG's internal finance team and external accounting companies, control financial processes (including invoicing, payroll and royalties) to ensure that resources are managed effectively within financial constraints. To provide clear reporting of financial targets and forecasts to the Executive Producer, Senior Producer and Head of GM, and other producing partners. To ensure that the PC and PA have a good understanding of production budgets and oversee their coding and processing of invoices, creditors etc in relation to the working budget.
- To liaise with marketing, press, ticketing, producers and creative teams as necessary to plan and launch marketing and press campaigns, on-sales, access performances etc.
- To have a working knowledge of production accounts, Theatre Tax Relief, and other financial systems.
- To oversee arrangements for press, gala and other event nights as needed.
- To attend workshops, readings, rehearsals, run throughs, technical rehearsals, previews, and press nights as necessary.
- To facilitate the organisation of travel, visas, accommodation and per diems for national and international touring productions.
- To coordinate access performances as required with coordinators.
- To be familiar with production insurance, including obtaining quotes and processing any claims and extensions.
- To build and maintain relationships with agents, actors, creatives, investors, co-producers, and venues and to keep abreast of productions in the UK and internationally.
- To liaise with ATG colleagues in other areas of the business, for example programming and venue management, including when any issues arise.
- To support the general managers in sourcing and casting appropriate artists for productions, to maximise a show's commercial potential.
- To attend marketing, press and ticketing meetings with producers and creative teams to plan and launch campaigns, maintain running budgets, and organise on-sales etc as required.
- Such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Person Specification
Desirable:
- Previous experience at Associate General Manager level within a theatre production department.
- Experience of commercial theatre production in the UK and beyond.
Skills:
