Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to provide personalised support to individuals in their own homes. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives by assisting with daily activities and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, and have a genuine desire to help others. Previous experience in care home settings or home care is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Assisting clients with personal care tasks (washing, dressing etc)
- Supporting clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Helping with household chores including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Administering medication in accordance with care plans (training provided)
- Providing companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided
- Following individualised care plans to meet each client’s specific needs
Requirements
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for travelling between clients’ homes
- Prior experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good IT skills for maintaining electronic care records and communication
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Compassionate attitude with a respectful approach towards clients’ privacy and dignity
- Weekend availability
- To travel to surrounding areas such as Sudbury, Ipswich, Hadleigh and surrounding areas. Travelling out of usual allocated locations may be required.
