Source Supply are recruiting an exceptionally caring and understanding SEND Teaching Assistant to work at a calm and inclusive SEND school in Middlesbrough.
In this setting, pupils are enabled to reach their full potential through following an informal curriculum tailored directly to their needs. The school recognises the uniqueness of each child and allows this to strengthen the foundation of their learning.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will welcome children to school from their arranged transport being a friendly welcoming face, starting each child’s day off positively. You will then maintain continuity by following learner’s daily routines – activities such as engaging in play in the therapy room. You will encourage communication via the use of picture cards and follow the traffic light system to understand how each individual is feeling.
The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will follow the schools clear, concise and successful systems, but will be welcomed to bring forward new ideas. You will become an additional member of a very strong team who have a passion for education and getting best outcomes for every child.
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
· Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting.
· A nurturing, patient and consistent approach.
· Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
· Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
· Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
· Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
