Hack & Veldt is a small yet very busy Deli/Coffee Shop/Wine Bar in Chiswick much loved by the local community. We have a loyal following developed over our 13 years of trading with many regular customers (and their dogs).
We have extended our core opening hours and are broadening our offer resulting in the requirement to recruit fabulous people to join our team on a long-term, full-time basis. We have a terrific range of exciting products providing a haven for food and drink lovers - maybe you share this passion too!
Job Description:
The job is a very much a hybrid role based on site consisting of front of house barista operations, customer service/sales advice, clearing tables & maintaining a welcoming environment with back of house operations including stock replenishment, general cleaning and managing the dishwasher!
Responsibilities of the role
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages (including all coffee options) and food items to customers with attention to quality and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Assist in food preparation and manage inventory levels effectively.
- Ensure the shop floor is maintained to a high standard, tables are cleared and the back of house function is delivered at pace.
- Manage time efficiently to meet customer demands during peak hours.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Any other additional capabilities you might have to bring!
Capabilities required
- A positive attitude with a strong proactive work ethic who likes to “get things done” and be prepared to muck in with all tasks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
- Proven barista experience with a strong emphasis on customer service
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Skills in food preparation and basic maths for accurate order handling
- Excellent time management with the ability to be highly productive
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
Applicants must be able to work on a mix of early and late shifts including weekends.
