Job Overview
A Static Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a constant security presence at a fixed location. The role involves protecting property, assets, and people by monitoring activities, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to the premises (entry and exit points)
- Conduct regular patrols of the site to ensure safety and security
- Observe and report suspicious activities or incidents
- Operate CCTV systems and alarm systems
- Check identification and issue visitor passes when required
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire alarms, disturbances, or breaches
- Maintain accurate logs and incident reports
- Ensure compliance with site security procedures and policies
- Provide a visible deterrent against theft, vandalism, and trespassing
Requirements & Skills
- Valid security license (e.g., SIA licence in the UK)
- Previous experience in security or a related field preferred
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic knowledge of security systems (CCTV, alarms)
- Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended periods
- Professional appearance and attitude
Working Conditions
- May involve day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Requires standing or walking for long periods
