About Us
We run a cluster of vibrant, complementary businesses under one roof. The Market is a fully licensed live music venue with rotating pop-up food operators and market stalls, open to the public at weekends and available for private hire during the week. Alongside it sits Little Kingdom, a large children’s adventure play centre. We also operate several smaller ventures that feed into the main sites, including in-house food offerings and a pop-up bakery.
We are constantly evolving, testing new ideas and moving fast. It’s an environment where you wear multiple hats, get stuck in, and see the commercial impact of your decisions quickly.
The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, commercially sharp Manager to take day-to-day ownership of both The Market and Little Kingdom, plus the smaller businesses that support them. You’ll lead the teams, keep operations running smoothly across a busy weekend trade, drive revenue and private hire, and help shape what we do next. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on variety and pace, not a desk job.
Salary - £40,000 - £50,000 per annum DOE
Hours - 40 hours per week (Weekend availability is essential)
Location - Kingsway Centre, Newport
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Solid hospitality experience, ideally in a licensed venue, events space or high-footfall leisure environment.
- Availability and willingness to work weekends — this is core to the role.
- Proven experience recruiting, managing and motivating staff.
- Strong commercial sense — comfortable with budgets, margins, targets and spotting opportunities.
- Experience in a similar fast-paced, multi-site or multi-strand operation.
- Confidence, initiative and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- A genuine “get stuck in” attitude and comfort wearing multiple hats.
Desired
- Personal Licence and/or experience running a licensed bar.
- Experience in family entertainment, play centres or events management.
- Food & beverage or catering operations background.
- Marketing or social media experience to help promote events and drive footfall.
