Goods In Warehouse Operative
Location: Uform | Shift: 37.5 hours, 13 hour Rotational Shift 3 days per week on a 4 week rotational shift pattern
Pay: Starting £13.00| Type: Full-time, Permanent
Role Summary:
Join our fast-paced warehouse team, responsible for receiving, inspecting, and booking in stock. You’ll ensure all incoming goods meet quality standards and are ready for put-away or picking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect goods (standard and specials)
- Load/unload trailers safely and efficiently
- Use handheld scanners to receipt stock accurately
- Perform quality checks on quantity, range, size, and finish
- Maintain high housekeeping standards (6S)
- Follow all operational and health & safety procedures
- Use lifting equipment correctly (training provided if needed)
- Support team targets and cover colleagues during absences
- Contribute to continuous improvement and team briefings
- Lead by example in behaviour, attendance, and safety
✅ What You’ll Need:
- 1-3 years’ previous experience in a busy, fast paced warehouse environment.
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work flexible and/or demanding hours as determined by the needs of the business.
- Either hold or be willing to undertake stand-on picker, pallet truck and counterbalance tests.
- Previous Goods In working experience.
- A basic working knowledge of Quality Control and Health & Safety within a shop floor environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
