Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our team on a three-day workweek schedule. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves fabricating components primarily from sheet metal and other materials, utilising various hand and power tools. The successful applicant will contribute to the production of high-quality metal assemblies, ensuring precision and safety standards are maintained throughout the process.
Duties
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on various materials, including sheet metal, to precise specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble components.
- Fabricate metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy in dimensions and quality.
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or sub-assemblies.
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations to verify dimensions and tolerances using standard measuring instruments.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in TIG welding and general fabrication, preferably within a manufacturing or workshop environment.
- Proficiency with various hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong understanding of sheet metal work and mechanical assembly processes.
- Good knowledge of fabrication techniques specific to <LOCATION> welding standards.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant certifications or training in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not essential. Wages
- £16.50 - £19.50 - depends on experience, team leads up to £20.50
