This role is a floating maintenance role across our 3 sites to make improvements and upgrades in our homes such as to improve theinternal and external environments. Some of the things will include upgrading bathrooms and toilets, adding en suites to existing bedrooms etc

- We’re looking for a practical, reliable Maintenance Person to keep our homes safe, well-presented and running smoothly—inside and out.
The role (what you’ll be doing) if you are reqired to cover one of our 3 homes' maintenance roles if there is someone off
- Completing day-to-day repairs and improvements across the building, services and grounds
- Reporting and actioning defects (appliances, furniture, equipment, hazards) and keeping a clear maintenance log
- Basic multi-trade tasks as needed: decoration, joinery, minor plumbing/electrical (within competence)
- Maintaining the exterior areas (e.g., sheds/outbuildings tidy, waste areas clean, seasonal gritting/snow clearance, grounds upkeep where applicable)
- Carrying out planned checks and recording results, including:
- Weekly fire alarm tests and logging
- Checks of call points, fire exits, door retainers and emergency lighting (as per procedure)
- Water temperature checks for Legionella control (as per procedure)
- Replacing light bulbs/diffusers and keeping ventilation units/lights clean
- Assisting/supervising deliveries and monitoring goods received
- Maintaining an inventory of furniture, fittings and equipment (logging items in/out and disposals)
- Working safely at all times, following Health & Safety and fire procedures, and ensuring risk assessments are in place when required
What we’re looking for
- Proven general maintenance experience (care setting helpful but not essential)
- Practical skills across general repairs and upkeep (decoration/joinery/basic plumbing/electrical)
- Strong awareness of Health & Safety and safe working practices
- Organised approach with good attention to detail—accurate record keeping is essential
- A proactive mindset: spot issues early and fix or escalate quickly
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (or willingness/ability to travel between sites if required)
- Right to work in the UK — applicants must not require sponsorship now or in the future

To be agreed with the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager (role can be tailored per home)
