About the vacancy:
Are you looking for your next opportunity within Hedyn? We are seeking a Compliance Contract Surveyor (Heating) to join our Property & Place team and help ensure our homes and operational properties remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
In this specialist role, you will act as the client representative, providing oversight of gas servicing, repairs and wider heating compliance programmes delivered by both our in-house teams and external contractors. You will monitor contractor performance, manage compliance records and certification, oversee audits and assurance activities, and help ensure Hedyn continues to meet its statutory responsibilities.

Specifically, in the role you will:

To act as the ‘Client’ and have oversight and monitoring duties over gas inspection repairs delivered by in house Gas Safe engineers and external contractors.
- Manage contractors delivering ‘other’ heating servicing requirements e.g. heating servicing requirements e.g. MVHR, PIV, Unvented cylinders, and HIU’s. Alternative combustion-based heating system’s inc solid fuel, oil and CHP and any other specialist servicing areas as deemed necessary.
- Facilitate regular meetings with relevant contractors to ensure open and transparent communication.
- Providing accurate and timely information to M&E Manager as requested as well as highlighting any areas of concern as early as possible, providing recommendations and solutions wherever possible.
- Manage post maintenance and inspection repairs to areas managed by this role.
- Ensure ‘no access’ process is followed by contractors and escalate to housing teams as required.
- Ensure service reports, documentation and repair completion documentation is validated and recorded on association systems.
- Provide assurance reporting and manage site audits
- Be able to speak to residents to discuss service areas and answer any questions they may pose.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with Hedyn procedures and permits.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practice, advising on implications for Hedyn.
- The postholder will undertake any other duties that are reasonable, proportionate, and commensurate with the grade of the role, as required to support the effective delivery of the service.”

Financial Responsibility: Responsible for the budget allocated to the compliance areas managed by the role, ensuring contractor spend monitoring for servicing, auditing and repairs.
- People Responsibility: None
- Scope: Organisation-wide property portfolio, including all residential and commercial assets and all operational sites.
