Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
Job Purpose
The Master Data Management (MDM) Manager is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and accuracy of master data with a particular focus on Chart of Accounts and expert knowledge of SAP. The MDM Manager will support the Business’s objectives of creating a single source of master data through accurately reviewing and processing requests for master data changes across Employee, Customer and Vendor master data but with a specialism in Chart of Accounts (CoA) Master data. The individual will be the Team subject matter expert in relation to SAP and associated systems and will lead the upskilling of junior team members across the different master data areas.
The MDM Manager will help to identify and assess the impact of master data changes on the Business and drive consistency of the master data across the business. They will play a key role in embedding new MDM processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives and must be able to plan, prioritise their own workload and to ensure that deadlines are achieved; customer queries are resolved quickly and efficiently in a professional manner.
Key accountabilities
Ensure the maintenance and integrity of the Chart of Account master data (including but not limited to; Cost Centres; General Ledger codes), Vendor master data, Employee master data and Customer master data are kept up to date
Process complex and technical master data requests in SAP
Responsible for the successful execution of Period/Year End system activities for TfL and GLA.
Timely and accurate processing of Master Data Management requests in line with policy
Compliance with performance KPI’s for the Master Data Management team and driving initiative and behaviors to improve performance
Upskilling and support for the Master Data Analysts and Associates
Responsible for the consistent and ongoing adherence to guidelines and internal controls
Responsible for providing advice and guidance to process owners regarding their requests
Ensure ongoing review and cleansing of master data quality
Play an active role in embedding the new Business Services model and support the future transformation opportunities
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Knowledge
Excellent knowledge of MDM processes
Knowledge of TfL data policies across Chart of Accounts, Vendor, Customer and Employee master data
Knowledge of Financial data structures, particularly around Chart of Accounts
Excellent knowledge of SAP Applications and data management systems
Knowledge of the internal relationships and interfaces necessary for TfL MDM to operate
Skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to show analytical thinking
Strong communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to translate and understand complex data requests
Strong Financial acumen around Chart of Accounts
Experience
Experience of working in a MDM function and updating data management structures
Experience of working with Chart of Accounts
Experience in upholding TfL data policies
Experienced professional working in a Business Services environment
