Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, analysing, and refining structural systems for a variety of construction projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise advanced design software and project management skills to deliver innovative and sustainable structural solutions. The ideal applicant will possess a strong background in structural engineering analysis/design and drawing.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed structural designs using Design software such as MasterSeries and other relevant tools.
- Analyse project requirements and create efficient system designs that meet safety standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural elements within larger construction projects.
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, and documentation to support project proposals and execution phases.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery whilst maintaining high standards of quality.
- Oversee the review of construction plans and provide technical guidance during the implementation phase.
- Assist in project management activities including scheduling, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in civil or structural engineering with a focus on system design within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in CAD programmes including AutoCAD, Draftsight, and other relevant software tools.
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis techniques and software such as Excell.
- Experience in project management principles and practices to coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with construction processes and site supervision is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Circa 10 years construction experience and either Chartered or approaching Chartered status
