Job Description
The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager and Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring productivity targets are met, maintaining quality standards and leading a team in a fast paced industrial laundry environment. This role would suit someone with strong leadership skills and a hands on approach to operations management.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily plant operations, including washing, drying, folding and distribution process
- Supervise and support staff to ensure efficiency, safety and high quality output
- Monitor workflow and production metrics, identifying areas for improvement which might enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Train, coach and develop team members to enhance performance
- Assist with scheduling, staffing and resource allocation
- maintain equipment functionality by coordinating routine maintenance and repairs
- Handle customer inquiries or issues related to service quality when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in laundry operations is preferred
- proven supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to mange multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment
- Knowledge of health and safety standards
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends
