We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Fencer / Fencing Operative to join our established fencing team at Tony Cook Ltd
The role will involve working on a variety of commercial, domestic and local authority projects, installing and repairing different types of fencing and gates.
Main duties
- Installing timber, concrete, mesh and steel fencing systems
- Erecting gates, posts, panels, rails and associated components
- Excavating post holes and concreting posts into position
- Removing and disposing of existing fencing
- Loading and unloading fencing materials
- Using hand tools, power tools and small plant safely
- Working alongside other members of the fencing team
- Following site-specific risk assessments, method statements and health and safety procedures
- Maintaining a tidy and safe working area
The successful applicant will:
- Have some previous fencing or relevant construction experience
- Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a good understanding of workplace health and safety
- Take pride in producing work to a high standard
- Be willing to undertake a variety of fencing work
- Hold a full UK driving licence, preferably with the ability to tow
A valid CSCS card would be advantageous, although training may be considered for the right applicant.
Experience using excavators, post drivers, disc cutters or other fencing-related plant would also be beneficial.
