Café & Pottery Shop AssistantDuties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
- Take customer orders and process cash and card payments accurately.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in line with established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming café environment, including tables, counters, equipment, and customer areas.
- Restock food, beverages, and retail supplies throughout each shift.
- Follow food hygiene and safety regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary workplace.
- Support the daily operations of both the café and pottery shop as required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide excellent customer service and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Carry out additional duties as reasonably required.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a café, hospitality, retail, or customer service environment is preferred.
- Experience working in a pottery shop is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of food hygiene, food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good numeracy skills, including handling cash, processing payments, and giving change accurately.
- Experience preparing simple food and beverages is an advantage.
- Friendly, reliable, and proactive, with a willingness to help both customers and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Working Hours
Typical working hours include:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
- Saturday: 10:00am – 5:30pm
- Sunday: 10:30am – 5:00pm
Additional weekend shifts may be required. Shift patterns and working hours can be discussed and may be flexible.
Employment Details
