We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Technician to join our renewable energy team. Responsibilities
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various types of structures, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of existing solar installations to maximise efficiency and lifespan.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to assemble, connect, and secure solar components.
- Assist with site preparation, including excavation work using excavators when necessary.
- Perform welding tasks for structural modifications or repairs as required.
- Conduct electrical wiring and connections in accordance with electrical codes and safety protocols.
- Perform mechanical inspections and adjustments to optimise system performance.
- Document all work activities accurately and report any issues or anomalies promptly.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment relevant to solar installation and maintenance.
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in welding and site preparation tasks such as excavation.
- Electrical experience, including wiring, circuit testing, and troubleshooting electrical components within solar systems.
- Familiarity with the operation of excavators is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to electrical work, working at heights, and construction sites.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
