The Role:
Are you an organised, detail-oriented professional ready to jumpstart your career in finance within a fast-paced, global environment? We are looking for a Junior Finance Assistant to join our team. This isn't just a data entry job; it is a vital support position where you will keep our day-to-day financial operations running smoothly, ensuring accuracy across our global accounts, reconciliations, and transactional workflows.
You will be a key player supporting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will balance routine processing with agile problem-solving, making sure our global suppliers are managed efficiently, payments are executed flawlessly, and data across our international subsidiaries is meticulously maintained.
Accounts Payable & Mailbox Management: You will own the frontline of our AP operations. You will manage the AP mailbox with a sense of priority, posting invoices, chasing POs, addressing queries and setting up new suppliers to ensure our vendor relationships remain seamless and up to date.
Subsidiary & Data Preparation: You will be trusted with critical data preparation across our various subsidiaries. From balancing the books to aligning transactional workflows, you will handle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations and VAT data reconciliation with high accuracy.
Accounts Receivable & Payment Operations: You will actively support the AR team by preparing quotes, issuing invoices, taking credit card payments and keeping our track systems (like Smartsheet) updated. Additionally, you will assist with vital payment inputs, including weekly recurring runs, urgent payments, bi-monthly standard runs, expenses and per diems.
Global Reporting & Ad Hoc Projects: You will assist with complex cross-border financial tasks, including tax reconciliations and data collation for international regions (such as the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil). Whether you are managing monthly National Statistics surveys, maintaining the Berlin local invoices tracker, or pulling bank statements for audit queries, you adapt quickly to support the wider team.
What we're looking for in you:
The Finance Enthusiast: You bring either foundational experience working within a finance/accounting team or strong basic accounting knowledge. You have solid Excel skills and are eager to apply your academic or early-career knowledge to a fast-moving corporate landscape.
The Detail-Obsessed Team Player: For you, "attention to detail" isn't just a buzzword, it's a must. You are a quick learner who can work autonomously without losing sight of the bigger picture, knowing exactly how to collaborate effectively to lift your team up.
The Agile Communicator: You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to confidently interface with internal departments and global external stakeholders alike. You excel at managing multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines without breaking a sweat.
The Adaptable Learner (Nice to Haves): An understanding of VAT principles or exposure to international tax data is a major advantage. While experience with major ERP systems like Workday or SAP is a plus, you are someone who embraces new systems quickly (training will be provided!). Fluency in other languages is also a fantastic bonus.
