Job Summary
ADP Group have a position for an assistant driller / drilling rig second man.
The Role
The successful candidate will ideally have relevant experience in a similar role within the drilling or ground investigation industry. At the very least, the successful candidate will demonstrate experience working as part of a team, in a manual capacity, outside and in all weathers, along with a willingness to learn.
Work includes geo-environmental and geotechnical drilling, ground source heat pump/geothermal boreholes and water borehole drilling.
The successful applicant will be working as an assistant to a lead operator or driller on numerous items of plant and equipment.
The Requirements
The willingness to work hard, in all weather conditions, often on testing sites and always whilst working as part of a team.
A good understanding and experience of the drilling industry is preferred, however full training will be provided. A full, clean driving licence is essential.
Preferable but not essential is CSCS and C/C1 + E or B+E driving licences. A B category car driving license is essential.
The position would involve commuting to our South Glos head office (Wickwar, GL12), however work will often involve staying away 4 nights/week with occasional weekend working. The successful candidate will be expected to work nationwide, staying away from home in lodgings provided by the employer, often all week.
The ability to pass/provide a negative drugs screening is essential. Pre-employment drugs testing will be carried out, as will random and continual tests.

The package includes a very competitive basic salary (£27,000 - £29,000), generous overtime rates payable after the first 9 hours of each shift, and uncapped bonus schemes; also included is a tax-free “staying away” allowance to take care of living expenses whilst away from home.
Indicative OTE of £27,000 - £37,000 depending on experience, bonus earnt & hours worked.
A company pension scheme will be offered as part of the employment package, along with 28 days annual leave and a Christmas shutdown.
Please note that the successful candidate will reside close to ADP Group's South Gloucestershire Head Office, as daily commuting is regularly required.
The expectation is that the successful candidate will live within 1 hour commuting distance, please note that you are unlikely to be considered for the role if you do not meet this criteria.
