The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Product Development & Sourcing Manager to own our new-product pipeline from opportunity identification through to production readiness.
You will build a consistent pipeline of differentiated, profitable and scalable products for Amazon and other e-commerce marketplaces.
Working closely with the CEO, Growth Manager, Import Team and Customer Service, you will own:
Opportunity → Validation → Product Development → Sourcing → Costing → Testing → Production → Launch Readiness
Key Responsibilities
- Product Research: Identify new product and category opportunities through market demand, competitor, pricing, review and customer analysis.
- Commercial Validation: Assess sales potential, target pricing, landed costs, margins, competition, working capital and scalability before committing to a product.
- Product Development: Create product specifications and identify opportunities to improve features, quality, usability, packaging and accessories.
- Supplier Sourcing: Find and evaluate manufacturers, particularly across China/Asia, and manage sampling through to production.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, tooling, lead times and commercial conditions.
- Margin Management: Ensure every product has a credible route to profitable scale before production.
- Quality & Compliance: Establish quality standards and coordinate testing, certifications, QC and relevant UK/EU compliance requirements.
- Customer Intelligence: Use reviews, returns, complaints and competitor feedback to drive product improvements.
- Launch Readiness: Ensure specifications, samples, costing, compliance, packaging and production are complete before handing products to the Growth Manager for launch.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years' experience in product development, sourcing or buying
- Strong experience sourcing directly from manufacturers, ideally China/Asia
- Experience taking physical products from concept to mass production
- Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
- Good understanding of product costing, margins, MOQs and landed costs
- Knowledge of quality control, testing and product compliance
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Amazon/e-commerce experience is highly desirable
