As a Senior Geospatial Surveyor at Ridge you will drive strategic initiatives, ensure the delivery of innovative solutions and work on prestigious projects. Our projects include large residential, industrial and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to much smaller schemes. You will also work with interesting clients including large retail companies, local authorities, Schools/Universities, contractors, developers etc. together with the option to work on exciting overseas projects.

Role and Responsibilities

Lead and manage our London Geospatial team to ensure delivery of projects across topographical and laser scan surveys.

Manage the team’s resources and report on the team’s finances to the wider team.

Drive strategic initiatives, manage projects and ensure delivery of Geospatial data.

Liaise with other internal disciplines to promote Geospatial services and to market our services to the rest of the business to secure broader income streams.

Quality assure the team’s outputs ensuring they are compliant with industry standards such as RICS, PAS128 and client specific requirements.

Engage with new clients and contacts to present Geospatial solutions to increase workload, attend networking events where required.

Mentoring/training of Assistant Surveyors in the use of laser scanning, topographical equipment and associated software.

Perform quality assurance checks of Assistant Surveyors’ work before issuing to clients

Presenting data to clients and writing reports
Experience and Skills Required:
-
Proven senior level of experience in surveying including laser scanning and topographical services, both on site and post processing.

Strong knowledge of Geospatial technologies, methodologies and principles including health and safety matters and pre survey planning.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to present to new clients and to build strong lasting relationships.

Experience in writing quotations and bidding for work by utilising commercial knowledge to pitch our services at the right level would be useful but not essential.

A keen focus on quality with experience in implementing quality assurance processes within the team to ensure consistency and risk mitigation.

Office working hours are between the hours of 08:30 and 17:00 with a 1-hour lunch break.

Working weekends may be required in addition to starting earlier and finishing late on some occasions.

Full clean diving license is required.
The role requires a combination of working within a team office environment whilst also working outdoors on a range of sites. There is a requirement to travel to sites and to work away from home frequently during the early stages of your Ridge career. Depending on the piece of land/building and how it is being used you may be required to work shifts or out of hours.
