BBC Coffee is a UK coffee roaster and manufacturer supplying leading retail and hospitality customers. We're growing, and we need a reliable, hands-on finance professional to keep our day-to-day accounting running smoothly.
The role
You'll own the day-to-day finance function — invoicing, ledgers, reconciliations, and supplier/customer accounts — making sure our books are accurate and up to date at all times. You'll work closely with our outsourced accountants, who prepare our formal accounts once you've closed a clean monthly position. This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage sales and purchase invoicing and day-to-day accounts administration
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date ledgers (sales, purchase, bank)
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations
- Support timely customer collections and supplier payments
- Close a clean, accurate trial balance each month
- Support stock counts and inventory controls
- Apply cost accounting principles (materials, labour, overhead) to support margin and pricing visibility
- Liaise with our outsourced accountants and payroll provider as needed
About you
- At least 2–3 years' experience in a finance/accounts role, ideally including invoicing and ledger work
- Working knowledge of Xero (essential)
- Some knowledge of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment (materials, labour, overhead absorption, product costing) — essential
- Manufacturing or stock-based business experience is a strong plus
- Experience with Odoo ERP is a plus
- Comfortable with varied, hands-on daily work
- Part-qualified or working towards ACCA/CIMA welcome; not required
