Team Leaders for children’s residential services in Leatherhead and Virginia Water.
You will lead shifts, supervise Residential Support Workers and support the Deputy and Registered Manager with the safe day-to-day running of the home.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate and supervise residential shifts.
- Provide direct, trauma-informed support to children and young people.
- Ensure practice follows care plans, risk assessments and company policies.
- Support the creation and review of care, behaviour and placement plans.
- Supervise and mentor staff and contribute to inductions and training.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure all concerns are reported correctly.
- Maintain daily logs, incident reports, medication records and handovers.
- Liaise with social workers, therapists and education providers.
- Assist with rota planning, shift cover and on-call arrangements.
- Respond to emergencies, complaints and behavioural incidents.
- Act as the responsible person during management absences.
- Travel to other services or professional meetings when required.
Essential requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- At least three years’ experience working with children and young people, or at least one year as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader.
- Experience supporting children with EBD and trauma-related needs.
- Previous shift-leadership and safeguarding experience.
- Working knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, sleep-ins and participate in on-call arrangements.
- The right to work in the UK.
A Level 4 or 5 leadership qualification, behaviour-management training and a full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
Pay: £35,500.00-£38,000.00 per year
