Job Overview
We seek a detail-oriented and organised Part-Time Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in financial administration within a professional environment. The successful candidate will assist with various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial record-keeping and data entry. Flexibility in working hours and the chance to develop skills in recognised accounting software are key benefits of this position. Salary £24,420.00 to £26,000.00 pro-rata. Ideally working Monday, Wednesday and Friday but this is negotiable.
Duties
- Assist with data entry of financial transactions into accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft
- Support accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and payment scheduling
- Maintain accurate records of financial documents and correspondence
- Reconcile accounts and prepare basic financial reports as required
- Utilise systems such as Workday, QuickBooks, or other relevant platforms to support daily operations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely processing of financial data
- Perform general administrative tasks related to finance functions, including filing and document organisation
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or PeopleSoft is desirable
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and basic financial procedures
- Experience working within the financial services sector is advantageous but not essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, for data management and reporting
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality
