About the Role
Ricon recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a well established engineering company for an experienced fabricator. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business working on a variety of industrial and process plant projects. Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, fabrication details, and specifications.
- Measure, mark out, cut, drill, and prepare steel components accurately.
- Assemble and fabricate structural steelwork, platforms, handrails, staircases, pipe supports, and bespoke metalwork.
- Operate fabrication equipment safely, including saws, drills, grinders, punches, and other workshop machinery.
- Carry out tack welding and assist with welding operations where required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Work closely with workshop supervisors, welders, and site teams to meet production schedules.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and preparing fabricated components for delivery.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a steel fabrication or heavy engineering environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Competent in the use of fabrication hand tools and workshop machinery.
- Good understanding of measuring and marking out techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good time management and reliability.
- Awareness of health and safety requirements within a fabrication workshop.
Helpful Requirements
- Welding experience (MIG, TIG, or MMA).
- Experience working with structural steelwork.
- Forklift, or lifting equipment experience.
- Relevant fabrication, engineering, or welding qualifications.
- Site installation experience and has a CSCS card.
- Ability to assist with project installations when required.
