We are looking for an experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our team with an immediate start.
Sommerville Day Nursery Ltd is a setting based in Lewisham, South-East London. We care for children aged 6 months to 5 years old, and we are situated less than 10 minutes walking distance from Lewisham train station and the DLR. We are also adjacent to Lewisham Shopping Centre.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement age-appropriate activities for children in the setting.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care.
- Supervise and support the development of children in their early years.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children.
- Utilise your leadership skills to manage and guide the nursery team.
- Maintain a clean and organised baby room environment.
- Utilise your early childhood education knowledge to enhance the learning experience.
- Drive and maintain a positive and inclusive atmosphere for children to thrive.
Applicants will need the following qualifications, training and experience:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or above
- Current relevant experience working and looking after children aged 6 months to 2 years old
- Knowledge and understanding of the safeguarding children obligations
- Good working knowledge of EYFS framework
- Knowledge of OFSTED requirements
- Experience as a key person – completing children’s observations, planning and next steps, etc.
- Experience in keeping and updating a child's record in their Learning Journal
- All applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS.
