SENIOR CARE ASSISTANT
Glenkindie Lodge is a 33-bed Residential Care Home in Desborough, Northamptonshire providing care for residents who are elderly, many with dementia. We are passionate and committed towards providing high-quality care in a ‘home-from-home’ environment.
We continue to make improvements to the environment, care and governance to create a better living and working environment for our valued residents, visitors and our employees.
We have embedded a digitised operational systems including Care Management, Health & Safety, Human Resource and Quality Management systems to enhance the efficiency and quality of the level of service to achieve our ultimate goal , we are also now in the process of changing to Emar from paper Medication charts.

About the role:
As Senior Care Assistant, you will play important and integral roles within our care team, helping us deliver high standards of care to our deserving residents. These are varied roles however the main duties will/may include (based on the role):
- Reporting to the Management, leading shifts, working in key-worker system, supporting and guiding the team with daily personal care responsibilities.
- Be accountable for the shift and provide an efficient and seamless shift transition/handover.
- Assisting on training and mentoring.
- Monitoring and administering medicines.
- Review and maintaining up-to-date care records on Care Management System and ensure maintaining high care standards.
- Carrying out assessments and admissions of new residents.
- Supporting residents and dealing with personal care with compassion.
- Building professional, warm and friendly relationships with our residents, providing physical & emotional support and promoting quality of life.
- Delivering a warm and friendly service, in welcoming relatives and healthcare professionals to our Home.
- Flexible working including on-call assistance and cover in emergency situations.
- Promoting team working and play lead role as Care Champions.

About You
- For the Senior Care Assistant role, 2 years work experience in Care Home is mandatory.
- NVQ 2 (or equivalent) or above in Health and Social Care is mandatory and the willingness to progress.
- Experience of medication administration.
- Experience of person-centered care plans.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of our residents.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations.
- Knowledge & understanding of dementia.
- Experience and willingness to conduct training.
- Flexible working is advantageous.
- Undertake training courses is advantageous.
- Team player, role model with compassion, enthusiasm, drive and confidence to make a collective improvement to the overall care and well-being of our residents.

Immediate, subject to:
- Receipt of satisfactory references
- Receipt of evidence of completed training
- Satisfactory Enhanced DBS checks
- Completion of induction training
