Our weekends are lively, fast-paced, and buzzing—with busy Saturday nights and guests staying late for cocktails and music. We are looking for an experienced, confident, and fast Bartender to join our team.
The Role
As a Bartender at Popina, you’ll be on the front line of our service. You’ll be slinging classic cocktails, pouring great wines, serving signature spritzes, and keeping the energy high across the bar and floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Speed & Precision: Confidently prepare classic cocktails, spritzes, and wine serves with speed, accuracy, and presentation under pressure during peak weekend services.
- Hospitality First: Welcome guests with warmth, offer tailored wine and drink recommendations, and create an atmosphere where guests want to stay for another round.
- Clean & Organised: Keep your station tight, clean as you go, and ensure the bar and glasswash areas run efficiently.
- Food & Grazing Service: Confidently guide guests through our artisan charcuterie, cheese, and conservas offerings.
- EPOS & Cash Handling: Manage guest tabs accurately using our POS system and handle table billings seamlessly.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Bartending Experience: You know your way around a cocktail station, understand cocktail balancing/free-pouring or jiggering, and don't get flustered when tickets start stacking up.
- Confidence & Energy: You are proactive, have a strong presence behind the bar, and love engaging with guests.
- Speed & Multi-Tasking: You can read the room, prioritise tickets, and manage bar guests and floor orders.
- Reliability & Team Mindset: You show up on time, communicate clearly with the team, and take pride in running a great shift.
- Wine / Spirit Knowledge (Bonus): An interest in European wines, Amari, Vermouth, and artisan spirits is a big plus.
